Assam Seva Samiti and PANACEA The Village Launch Month-Long Tree Plantation Drive in Sonapur and Celebrate World Environment Day

As part of its continued commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development, Assam Seva Samiti, in association with PANACEA The Village (An Eco-Tourism Resort), launched a Month-Long Tree Plantation Drive across the Sonapur Sub-Division of Kamrup, Assam, commencing on 6th June.

The initiative carries the inspiring slogan “Plant a Tree – Live in Harmony”, reflecting the shared vision of creating a greener and healthier environment for future generations. Through this month-long campaign, saplings are being planted at various locations across the Sonapur Sub-Division, promoting ecological balance, biodiversity conservation, and community participation in environmental stewardship.

The plantation drive aims to encourage individuals, communities, and organizations to actively contribute towards increasing green cover and combating environmental degradation. Every sapling planted today represents a long-term investment in a sustainable future for Assam.

By partnering with PANACEA The Village, an eco-tourism resort known for promoting environmentally responsible practices, Assam Seva Samiti seeks to inspire greater public awareness about the importance of tree plantation and environmental protection.

World Environment Day Celebration

The plantation campaign coincided with the celebration of World Environment Day at the Assam Seva Samiti premises. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from children, volunteers, and community members.

Young participants enthusiastically took part in tree planting activities, earning the title of “tiny gardeners on a mission to make the world greener.” The children planted saplings and learned about the importance of protecting nature, preserving biodiversity, and adopting environmentally friendly habits from an early age.

The celebration served as both an educational and practical initiative, encouraging the younger generation to become responsible custodians of the environment.
