Assam Seva Samiti Hosts Awareness Program to End Digital Violence Against Women and Girls in Guwahati
On Dec 1, 2025 Assam Seva Samiti successfully organized an awareness program on the theme “UNITE to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls” as part of the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence held at Guru Nanak Senior Secondary School, Guwahati, the program aimed to educate young minds on the growing issue of online harassment, cyberbullying, privacy violations, and digital safety.
The programme was graced by Mrs. Hemoprova Saikia, President of Assam Seva Samiti; Shri Bibhuti Dutta, General Secretary; and Mr. Subhanshu Chakraborty, Principal of Guru Nanak Senior Secondary School.
We were honoured to have Sri Bimal Bhusan Mahanta, senior journalist at ND24 and noted crime reporter as our resource person. His address covered critical aspects of digital safety including cyberstalking, online threats, and the psychological impact of cyberbullying. He also shared real-life cases to help students understand risks and encouraged them to remain vigilant, speak up against online abuse, and adopt safe digital practices.
